Inspired by the movie "The Trotsky", I have come to think that this is a truly disappointing world that we live in. I've been told that we are the generation to change the world. I've been told that we are the generation that will change from me to we. I've been told that we, not our parents, our grandparents, or even anyone before them, we are supposed to fix their mistakes. All I can think of is; how. How? Literally, how are we supposed to fix everything? How are we supposed to change everything? You all have made the rules we live in. Everything that happens, everything that takes place that 'affects' our lives, you have put into action. Not us. You have created an infrastructure, placed it upon your children, and have asked us for change. Change the world we live in to be better. End poverty, 'Global Warming', and everything else that plagues our earth. Well guess what, I've thought of something. Everything you take for granted, everything that exists on this Earth because it benefits you or is a convenience, everything, should be taken away. No computers. No cars. No gas, no internet, no machines. No electricity. How does that sound? You hate it? Why do you hate it? Because it's different than the world that you live in. You want change, but you will not accept it if you don't have your toys, or your comforts, or your ease of access to necessities. So if change is needed, how can we change if you aren't willing to lose a few comforts?
Infrastructure is torture. You can't change it unless you have other people rallying with you who are totally against the same issues. The problem with this is the youth of today are apathetic. They don't want to do anything. They've seen too many pleasures of the world without realizing the effort needed to attain these pleasures. My little cousin doesn't want to complete his 5th grade homework because he would rather play Mario Brothers on his Nintendo Wii. His father and mother are too preoccupied using their phones to really pay attention to his needs. Even myself, I get bored helping him with his homework. 5th Grade homework and I can't take the time to grill him. I can't be patient with him and help him understand how to use grammar or spell a certain word.
Apathy, the killer of humanity. All the knowledge we will ever know and no incentive to learn it. No incentive to live a productive life. No incentive to change.
